Da’Shaunae Marisa
A Cleveland, Ohio native Da’Shaunae Marisa (b.1996), is a photographist and teaching artist based in Los Angeles, CA and Cleveland, Oh.
She uses her work to spread stories of power and upliftment to communities of color. Her work explores the themes of authentic expression, generations of cultural behaviors and cycles within the Black community and the power of healing.
She highlights the beauty in the similarities across Black communities in different geographical locations. She intends to represent authenticity with compassionate story capture. Da’Shaunae describes her work as intimately uplifting.
